Laurel House is a not-for-profit, community-based sexual assault support service that operates across the North, North-East and North-West Tasmania (including the West Coast and Bass Strait Islands). It provides free, confidential, trauma-informed therapeutic support to victim-survivors of all ages who have experienced sexual violence.
It offers
- A 24/7 support hotline (1800 697 877, which spells 1800 MYSUPPORT)
- Free counselling and support for people of any age or gender
- Support for families and loved ones of survivors
Training and Education for primary health care services. Offers an Online Disability Workforce Toolkit , free programs for community groups and clubs. Works with young people in schools on respectful relationships and consent.

You can contact them directly yourself, or community organizations can refer you with your permission. Importantly, you don’t need to have reported to police to access their support.
In addition to their offices, Laurel House is located at Arch in Launceston and Burnie where multiple services (including Laurel House counsellors, police investigators, and other support workers) are all located under one roof to provide coordinated support for people affected by sexual harm.
