Support Services
Here is important and up to date information and links for everyone — whether you’re experiencing harm, supporting someone you love, or ready to take steps to change your own behaviour. Dedicated Tasmanian services and compassionate professionals are here, and they want to help you.
We want to be upfront with you about something important: right now, demand for services is high, and many organisations have waiting lists. We know that’s not easy to hear. But please don’t let it stop you from reaching out. Services are working hard to prioritise urgent situations, there are multiple pathways to support, and you absolutely do not have to face this alone.
Waiting times vary between organisations, so we encourage you to contact them directly to find out about current availability and when you might be able to get an appointment.
When people leave a violent situation, they often leave with nothing or very little. So as well as emergency accommodation, broader support is often needed along the way to healing — including medical, legal, financial and counselling services as well as safety and support planning.
The information here has been gathered from the websites of the listed organisations. Services change over time, and we’ll do our best to keep these pages current. If you know of a service that’s helped you and isn’t listed here, please let us know — we’d love to hear from you.
The names of most organisations are links to their web pages. Where a Facebook symbol appears, they also have a Facebook page you can follow to keep up to date with their latest news.
