The Safe at Home Family Violence Response and Referral Line is Tasmania’s 24/7 phone line for anyone affected by family violence. It’s your first point of contact to get help, information, and support from Safe at Home.

What is it?

The line is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays, through the Tasmania Police radio room, and offers an information and referral service by which callers can access the full range of response, counselling, information and other support services provided by Safe at Home.

  • How does it work?
  • When you call, trained staff will assess your situation:

If you’re in immediate danger: the call will be transferred to the police radio dispatch area for an immediate police response.

If you’re not in immediate danger: the call will be actively transferred to an appropriate counselling or support service for further assistance.

Who can call?

Anyone affected by family violence can call – whether you’re experiencing it yourself, worried about someone else, or need support as a family member or friend.
