📹 Note for editor: Insert ARCH Video here (to be completed in Feb/March 2026)
Arch is a safe place where you can get information and support if you are affected by sexual violence. It’s a Tasmanian Government initiative where you can access everything you need without having to tell your story multiple times to different agencies.
Services available include
- Sexual assault counselling (SASS in the south, Laurel House in the north)
- Tasmania Police specialist investigators (in plain clothes)
- Family violence support workers
- Child safety services
The key features
There are no marked police cars, no police uniforms, and no requirement for a victim-survivor to speak with police unless they choose to
People have choice and control about the kind of support they’re seeking, whether it’s police, social support services or both
It’s designed to avoid adding further trauma to someone who’s already experienced sexual harm
