Headspace is a free mental health service for young people aged 12-25. Tasmania currently has centres in:

  • Hobart (49 Liverpool Street) – operated by The Link Youth Health Service
  • Launceston (24 Wellington Street) – recently relocated to larger premises
  • Devonport (35 Oldaker Street)
  • Burnie (satellite service)
  • Eastern Shore – a new centre opening in Bellerive by late 2025

The centres provide integrated support including mental health counselling, physical and sexual health services, alcohol and drug support, and work/study assistance. Services are bulk-billed through Medicare (free for Australian citizens/permanent residents), and no referral is needed – young people can self-refer by calling, dropping in, or using online forms. All services are funded by the Australian Government.
