Community Hubs

These are safe, welcoming spaces where anyone can walk in without judgment to get help. The hubs help with

Emergency relief, including help with food, household items, clothing, payment of utility bills, medical prescription costs, urgent travel costs, and basic budgeting through their Fresh Start program

  • Homelessness support,
  • Financial literacy,
  • No Interest Loan Scheme applications,
  • Advocacy,
  • online applications, MyGov, and Centrelink access.

The hubs are located in Launceston, Smithton, and Somerset.

  • These are mobile food services that go out to communities:

Accommodation through Bethlehem House. This is Tasmania’s largest provider of crisis and transitional accommodation for men experiencing homelessness, offering Hobart’s only 24-hour staffed service for men. The service includes

  • meals, shower and laundry facilities, a gym,
  • a workshop for crafts and trades,
  • three kennels for residents with dogs, and
  • both individual and group support sessions.
  • legal and housing support and

an employability program to help men gain independence and find permanent housing.
