Among the many services that Relationships Australia Tasmania (RA Tas) provides, there are several services that support people affected by family violence. You can self-refer or be referred by another service:

ACORN (Children’s Family Violence Counselling Program) : A free counselling service for children and young people aged 5-18 who have experienced or witnessed family violence.

General Counselling Services: RA Tas has counsellors in Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport who provide a safe, confidential space for individuals, couples, and families dealing with various challenges, including family violence impacts e.g. Elder Relationships Services; Women’s Support Services Online Module

Separation Support: counselling for people who have separated due to family violence, helping them deal with challenges and adjust after separation e.g Counselling after separation; Supporting Children After Separation; Family Advocacy and Support Service

Other Related Services

Men Engaging New Strategies Program : A men’s behaviour change program for low to medium risk family violence perpetrators.

Reconnect program : Helps young people (12-18) reconnect with families where there have been recent difficulties

Relationship education and learning A range of online and in-person groups designed to support families, individuals, and young people during different stages of life. These groups are currently FREE to join

While Relationships Australia Tasmania provides valuable support, they work alongside other specialist family violence services in Tasmania such as the Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) and may refer clients to these services for more intensive family violence intervention.
